It is my privilege to welcome you to the website of Snowy Mountains Grammar School.

The choice of education is one of the most important decisions parents have to make for their children.  Therefore, time taken making a full evaluation of the choices available is very well spent.  Good schools have a great deal in common, however it is the subtle, but significant differences that create the unique learning environments that characterise individual schools.

Idyllically situated on the shore of Lake Jindabyne, and overlooked by the Snowy Mountains, the individuality of the Snowy Mountains Grammar School learning environment is determined by the integration of opportunities presented by its unique location, combined with traditional aspects of a grammar school education.

We believe the real quality of a school can be judged by how the individuality of each child is nurtured and developed.  At Snowy Mountains Grammar School the small, intimate environment ensures that every child is known, understood and encouraged at a personal level. 

The development of self-confidence is the natural consequence that stems from being recognised and valued as a significant member of the community.  With such confidence, all challenges seem possible and the pathway to success is established.

The breadth of opportunity provided by the proximity of the lake and mountain environment, enables Snowy Mountains Grammar School to offer a curriculum which is not available in other schools.  Integrating the challenge of the outdoors with the rigour of the classroom provides our students with an educational balance that allows them to develop their personal talents within a unique learning environment.
