On Friday, 10 November 2017, a group of students visited Snowy River Hostel in Berridale. This has become an annual event that students and residents look forward to each year. Students supplied residents with a delightful morning tea and took the time to chat over a cup of tea before leading a Remembrance Day service and Arts presentation. Singing performances from Winsome Ogilvie, Brooke Burns and Shelby Holland were enthusiastically received, as was a recital of The Man from Snowy River by Bronte Hely, Olivia Weston and Catherine Stynes-Garratty. The group also produced a joint art piece about poppies from Flanders Fields. Amy Hobbs did an admirable job as MC for the morning, Laura Hobbs produced an informative PowerPoint presentation about the Kokoda Trail, coinciding with the 75th anniversary, while Annabelle Forster handled the often stressful technical operations of the day. Commendations to everyone for a well-executed and well-received morning.
