On Thursday, 3rd May, the SMGS Mock Trial team had their first Mock Trial of 2018 against Scots School Albury via video conference. SMGS were the plaintiff in a civil case disputing a will. Our team were successful in winning the case but unfortunately we lost the trial. I was very proud of the students who all performed admirably. Special mention to our witnesses who recited their scripts with great accuracy and who maintain our case theory under the pressure of excellent cross examination. Eve Donelly also gave an outstanding closing addressing. For three of our students it was their first time being part of the team and in fact the first Mock Trial they had seen and they all performed their roles with aplomb. Our team consisted of:
- Edward Doeberl – 1st Barrister
- Saskia Dutch – 1st Witness
- Eve Donelly – 2nd Barrister
- Ambrose Hansen – 2nd Witness
- Zac Bell – Solicitor
- Anna Cristofani-Wykes – Magistrates Clerk.
