On Wednesday, 27 June, SMGS Head of Faculty – Mathematics and Movement, Dr Adam Lloyd’s journal article, “Parental Influences on Those Seeking a Career in STEM: The Primacy of Gender”, was published in the International Journal of Gender, Science and Technology.

The journal article, of which Adam was the lead author, is based on his research over the last few years while at the University of Newcastle.

Not resting on his laurels, Adam travelled to New Zealand last week to present at the Mathematics Education Research Group of Australasia Conference (MERGA 41st Conference). The title of his talk is: Making Maths a HITT at School: a whole school approach. 

Dr Lloyd joined our team this year and is passionate about learning and has taught for many years, from primary through to the tertiary level. Prior to being awarded his PhD, Adam completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons 1) and Diploma in Education through the University of Newcastle, and a Master of Education through the University of Melbourne. With a passion for mathematics and health behaviour, Adam likes to integrate physical activity into learning and everyday life.
