Conditions improved on day 4 of competition in the 2018 Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships with blue skies and slightly cooler temperatures.
Despite the blue skies, the snow conditions held up well throughout the day, setting up a huge day of competition.
A late venue change saw the division 1 Alpine and Snowboard GS events moved back across the mountain from Blue Cow to the Hyper Trail. That didn’t faze Finn Sadler who dominated the Alpine event with a strong 1st place before strapping on the board to take a remarkable double with 1st place in the Snowboard GS event.
Over on Mogul Matt’s, the division 1 and 2 Moguls events continued throughout the day on a soft course with a cool breeze helping to prevent the snow from deteriorating any further. Both our division 1 teams finished on the 3rd step of the podium but it was a family affair in the individual results with Isabelle and Charles Beaton both securing bronze medals.
The action continued on Sun Valley with the division 1 and 3 SkierX events. Fresh from his 3rd place in the Moguls, Charles Beaton put in another strong performance to secure 2nd place and Letitia Murphy joined the party with 2nd place in the girls event.
The action concludes tomorrow with the 5th and final day of competition. The big boys and girls are out with the division 1 Alpine, Snowboard GS and SnowboardX while division 3 hit the Moguls and division 2 are back for SkierX. Good luck to everyone and Go Team SMGS!
