With the conclusion of the academic school year, Snowy Mountains Grammar School bids farewell to a much loved member of its teaching staff, Mrs Marcia Elliot. Mrs Elliot, has been teaching at SMGS since 1991, and following a long career in education, has decided to retire.
Mrs Elliot taught Year 2 and 3 at SMGS in 2018, and facilitated a number of additional activities within the Junior School. These included the Book Club, and the Junior School Choir. She also organised the annual K-3 Nativity Play.
Parents and students, both past and present, attended a farewell assembly in The Shed to commemorate Mrs Elliot’s time at SMGS and celebrate her considerable contribution to the school over the last 19 years. Also in attendance were members of Mrs Elliot’s family, and friends and colleagues from throughout her teaching career. The assembly featured speeches and a performance by the Junior School Choir. Guests were then invited to a morning tea on the school lawns.
Mrs Elliot has had an immeasurable impact on SMGS’ young students, and on her colleagues throughout the school. We wish her a full and wonderful retirement.
