On Tuesday 21 May, The Educator Magazine announced the finalists across each of the twenty-four categories for this year’s Australian Education Awards. The awards are open to any school in the Australian K-12 education sector.

Snowy Mountains Grammar School is very proud to announce that we have been selected as a finalist in three categories for the 2019 Australian Education Awards.

  • Best Co-Curriculum Program
  • Regional School of the Year
  • Boarding School of the Year

Of our school’s 2019 nominations, SMGS Principal, Dr Andrew Bell, said, “It is an absolute honour for SMGS to be nominated in this year’s Australian Education Awards across three categories.  These nominations are a testament to SMGS’ staff and community, whose passion and commitment continually deliver an exceptional learning experience for our students.”

In 2018, SMGS took top honours for Boarding School of the Year against a very strong group of finalists that included Ascham School, Toorak College and The Scots College. We were also nominated in two other categories (Best Co-Curriculum Program and Innovation in Curriculum Design). With the closest city two hours’ drive away, the nod for Regional School of the Year speaks to the vibrancy of our learning environment in the Snowy Monaro region and beyond.

SMGS now turns its attention to the finalists’ submissions. Category winners will be announced at the Gala Awards Dinner to be held at Dockside in Sydney on 16 August 2019.
