Each year since 1945, the Children’s Book Council of Australia has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time, schools celebrate books and Australian children’s authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers and teacher-librarians develop activities and tell stories relating to a theme so as to highlight the importance of reading.

This year’s theme was Curious Creatures, Creative Minds.

Students came dressed as their favourite book character and were immersed in literacy activities within the classroom. This was a fun way to celebrate Australian literature and our love of reading.
