Over the five days, our riders competed in a variety of disciplines, such as eventing, combined training, showjumping, dressage, working horse challenge, Warrumbungle’s Way challenge, team 6 bar, team barrels, team hunt, team penning and finally the grand parade. We set up camp with eighteen trucks, goosenecks and floats to create a great atmosphere, with parents and students chipping in each night to help keep the camp running. In amongst all this, the students still managed to complete their schoolwork and submit assignments.

Our equestrian team, as usual, punched way above their weight, placing in almost all the events in which we competed. SMGS received a lot of praise throughout the week, not only for our fantastic results, but also our volunteering efforts, constantly hearing our name over the PA. Everyone has packed up and headed for the two-day trip home on a high from the fun week and can’t wait to return next year.
