Earlier this term, Snowy Mountains Grammar School completed construction of a new common area in the Junior Girls Boarding Wing.

To celebrate the new extension, the Junior girls in boarding enjoyed hosting a special morning tea with invited guests Dr Andrew Bell Principal, Director of Residential, Mrs Kelli Wilson, Head of Boarding, Mrs Julie Wright, Assistant Head of Senior School, Mr Tim Bland, Boarding Supervisor, Mr Tim Spears and Boarding House Captain, Miss Veronika Vagner.

The completed extension is a welcome addition for the boarding house community and comes at an exciting time as construction of Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the School’s Master Plan kicked off at the beginning of the year.

“It is a wonderful, homely area that allows ease of social interaction, somewhere to cook those special favourites outside of mealtimes, a spacious and well-equipped laundry facility and a very comfy lounge to relax and enjoy down time away from school and boarding routines,” said Julie Wright. “The outside area has one of the best views in town and leads directly from the kitchen allowing opportunity to soak up the view, sunshine and fresh air in a private and comfortable space.”

“The space is somewhere that we can all gather together…and be more connected than before,” said Callie, Year 9.

“It provides a good opportunity to watch a movie or cook something with your friends in a nice environment,” said Taylah, Year 9.
