Snowy Mountains Grammar School is pleased to announce that the Snowy Mountains Interschools Equestrian Competition (SMIEC) will be held at a new venue this year. From May 4th to May 7th 2023, Equestrian Park in Canberra will be hosting the competition, which caters to all students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

According to Gidge Fairfield Smith, the SMIEC Coordinator, “We’re thrilled to be hosting SMIEC at Equestrian Park this year. The new venue provides ample space for competitors and their horses, as well as convenient access to nearby amenities. We’re excited to see what the students can accomplish in these new surroundings.”

The event features a varied program of events, including One Day Event, Combined Training, Dressage, Show Jumping, Pentathlon, Show Rider and Working Hunter, Working Horse Challenge, and Sporting events. A team Six-Bar Jumping Competition, a Rescue Relay, and Schools’ Fancy Dress Team event are just some of the highlights of the School’s competition. An individual High-point score in age groups and an overall School Point score will be in operation.

Located at 208 Cotter Road, Weston ACT, Equestrian Park is conveniently located near motels, hotels, and shops. Competitors can book steel yards at the venue or build their own. Camping will be available in the Cotter Plots adjacent to Equestrian Park.

Entries and Yard Bookings will open on Tuesday, April 4th at 7 pm. The full program of events will be published on the SMIEC website (www.smiec.com.au) in the coming weeks.
