Coming in Term 1, 2022
SMGS Equestrian Development Academy
Welcome to the SMGS Equestrian Development Academy.
After many years of offering school equestrian programs in the Snowy Monaro region, we are pleased to launch the SMGS Equestrian Development Academy (EDA), a newly developed specialised program for 2022 and beyond. Catering for beginner to advanced riders, boarding and day students, the program will provide increased opportunities for all riders to work towards their personal best and beyond in a number of equestrian disciplines.
As part of the EDA program in 2022, we are also pleased to offer boarding and day students the provision of agistment, located adjacent to the Jindabyne Pony Club.
The new Equestrian Development Academy has five components:
- Learn-to-Ride Program
- Our regular Wednesday Sport offering.
- Specialist Instructor Development Program
- Multi-discipline program on Wednesdays with visiting specialist Instructors. This includes a two-hour small group lesson between 8:45 am and 4:00 pm. Additional training opportunities on Wednesday will also be available.
- Competitions
- SMGS will travel to a number of interschool events in 2022 as well as provide academic support for students competing while at events.
- Clinics
- Specialist intensive programs will be held once each term (dates to be confirmed).
- Agistment
- Open to boarding and day students from early in Term 1, 2022.
The SMGS Equestrian Development Academy Program coordinator is Gidge Fairfield-Smith.
More information will be coming soon in January 2022.
