Year 11 2023 Subject Selection Evening and Expo
26 July @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm AEST
Year 11 marks an exciting time in a student’s learning journey – The start of the Upper Senior Years.
We warmly invite all Year 10 students currently attending SMGS or considering enrolling at SMGS in 2023, and their parents/carers, to attend our Year 11 2023 Subject Selection Information Evening on Tuesday, 26 July, commencing at 6:00 pm in the Snowy Shed.
An important transition:
At Snowy Mountains Grammar School, we understand the importance of equipping students and their parents with as much information and guidance as possible before they begin the transition to Stage 6 in their educational journey. To help students through this significant transition, during our Year 11 Subject Selection Information Evening, the Director of Curriculum and Operations will be discussing the NESA guidelines for subjects in Year 11 and 12, advice on subject selections and patterns of study, and information about the HSC and the ATAR. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak to the Principal, Dr Andrew Bell, and the teachers of the courses they are considering for Year 11 2023.
What we will cover:
The Year 11 2023 Subject Selection Information Evening is a perfect opportunity for students and parents to hear important information about patterns of study for Year 11 and to talk directly with subject teachers about course requirements. Each subject will have a booth with valuable information, including student work, so that students and parents are well informed when making decisions about subject choices for 2023.
– 6:00 pm Presentation by the Director of Curriculum and Operations, Dr Darryl Nelson.
– 6:35 pm Subject Expo and discussions with subject teachers. Students and parents are welcome to discuss subjects with subject teachers in Faculty-based information stalls
– 7:10 pm Close.
Send us your questions:
While all attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the evening, we also encourage you to send us your questions beforehand so that we can incorporate the answer into an FAQ or ensure we cover them in our presentation.
