We are delighted to welcome you and your family to Snowy Mountains Grammar School for the commencement of the 2023 School Year.

This portal is designed to deliver all the information you need to know before your child(ren) commences their learning journey at SMGS.

This portal has two components:

1. Quick links – a list of all the key documents and information that you need to be ready prior to commencement in 2023
2. An overview of the online systems and resources we use at SMGS to connect with students and families

We will continue to update this portal as more information about the 2023 School year becomes available.

Please note that information will also come from the Head of Junior School and/or Head of Middle and Senior School in the new year.

At Snowy Mountains Grammar School, we use a number of online systems and resources that help us provide students with the best possible school experience. Being a smaller school allows us to be more agile with the technology and platforms that we use.

Operoo is a health and safety system that automatically keeps medical and emergency details up to date for all K-12 students studying at SMGS. These details are then instantly available to authorised staff when required, such as sporting events or school excursions.

You will receive a profile request from Operoo on behalf of SMGS.  You must create a Operoo account and complete a profile for each student.  This is our primary reference point for health and safety information, so please ensure that you keep the records complete and up to date at all times. 

Canvas is an SMGS Senior School online learning management platform which provides staff and students with an integrated learning environment that can be accessed any time, from anywhere, on almost any device.

As a parent, you have the ability to “observe” your child, ensuring you have full visibility into their work, including progress, results and teacher interaction.

For new Middle and Senior School families to SMGS, you will receive details about accessing CANVAS in the IT Welcome pack, which will be sent closer to the start of the 2023 School Year.
