The Young Women In Technology program provides an opportunity for senior girls at Snowy Mountains Grammar School to explore technology in a positive and supportive environment.

New in Term 4 this year, the program is designed to foster the growth of technology in senior girls. Students meet once a week to experiment with technology, work on personal projects connect with prominent women in the industry through live video meetings and presentations.

What is the aim of the program? 

The program aims to promote technology to senior girls at Snowy Mountains Grammar School by helping them to pursue technology-related interests and creating opportunities for career development in technology.

What hands-on opportunities are available?

Students in the program have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across many areas of technology including:

What else does the program provide?

Through a combination of on-site visits and live video meet-ups, students will have the opportunity to learn from prominent women currently working in technology. These sessions are designed to be highly interactive, allowing students to have open discussions with each mentor rather than a simple presentation.

What experience is required?

Absolutely none. The program caters for any level of experience, from complete novice to tech experts. Some participants may be more interested in the mentoring and career development aspects while others prefer to focus on the practical experience. It’s completely up to the individual.
