Our final Cre8ive Sessions for 2025 was a vibrant celebration of creativity and courage. The evening featured music, performance poetry, drama, HSIE, English and visual art displays, with Middle and Senior School students stepping into the spotlight on the Snowy Shed stage. Many performed for the first time, sharing their talents and passion with a full and supportive audience. The Cre8ive Sessions platform provides a space for students to perform, build confidence and further develop their communication and stage presence.

As 2025 comes to an end, students continued to showcase their growing talents, skills and interests at this most recent event. Cre8ive Sessions brought together students from across the curriculum. Drama and Music performers took the stage alongside English students who presented their written work, and Visual Arts and Design and HSIE students who also shared their creative projects.

Students Stepping Into the Spotlight

For some students, performing has become second nature after years of experience. For others, standing in front of an audience is still new and filled with nerves. Those nerves do not always disappear, even for seasoned performers. Yet this nervous energy is often what inspires courage in students who are only just beginning to push their boundaries. Many discovered that they could step onto the stage and present their songs, scenes or self-devised poetry to a large audience with pride.

It is rewarding to see students take a deep breath, begin their performance and keep going even when they stumble. With the encouragement of their families and friends, many showed resilience and bravery as they continued to the end.

The Backstage Magic Few Get to See

Although the audience sees the polished moments on stage, only a few staff are lucky enough to witness the camaraderie that happens behind the scenes. Backstage, performers encourage one another, offer final words of support and celebrate each success with genuine pride. Students pat each other on the back as they come off stage, share relief, joy and laughter, and reflect on what they achieved.

This culture of respect, encouragement and admiration is one of the most powerful qualities of the Cre8ive Sessions. It highlights what it means to support others, embrace vulnerability and celebrate creativity across year levels.

A Community Built on Creativity and Confidence

The final Cre8ive Sessions of 2025 was a reminder of the strength of our learning community and the value of providing opportunities for creative expression. Whether through performance, writing or visual art, students continue to grow in confidence and discover new ways to share their stories.
