Experiences That Expand Horizons

Nurturing World-Ready Young People

We are proud to offer the prestigious youth development program: The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, open to all Years 8 to 12 students. This program gives our students a chance to achieve an internationally-recognised award doing the things they love.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is an exciting opportunity for our students to engage in outdoor adventure, community service and recreation while growing in their sense of responsibility, optimism, confidence, teamwork and resilience.

There are three award levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold, with students being encouraged to begin their Award journey at the end of Year 8 or start of Year 9 at the Bronze level and to progress from there. Each level is made up of four sections: Physical Recreation, Skills, Voluntary Service and an Adventurous Journey.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is an empowering program that helps our students develop the skills to confidently navigate life’s opportunities and challenges.

Student Reflection

“From the early morning wake ups to beat the foreign heat to the ever-inclining hills, we fought through the Cambodian sun to climb to the summit of Mount Oral. The encouragement within the group during the summit climb and the kindness of the locals at base camps offering us local passionfruit to rejuvenate our bodies, was what really kept us going. Getting to see an environment and culture so different to that of my own is something I will never forget.”
