At Snowy Mountains Grammar School, we encourage students to lead with integrity, guided by their strengths and a commitment to making a meaningful difference. Leadership is grounded in listening, valuing diverse perspectives, and working together with purpose.
Opportunities such as the Student Representative Councils, Junior School Leaders and Prefect Team allow students to lead across Academics, Boarding, House, Media, Arts, Performing Arts, Service Learning, Sport and Peer Support.
These experiences nurture confidence, courage and a strong sense of responsibility, equipping students with the skills to grow, contribute and thrive, both within our connected community and beyond.

Service
Nurturing people and the planet is central to our School. Through Service Learning, students develop a strong sense of responsibility towards others and the environment, while creating meaningful change locally, nationally and globally.
In the Junior School, students partner with SolarBuddy to raise awareness of energy poverty. They fundraise for and assemble solar light kits, providing safe, sustainable lighting for students in remote communities—giving children the opportunity to read and learn after dark.
Our younger students are also passionate about protecting the endangered Mountain Pygmy Possum and its fragile alpine habitat.
In the Middle and Senior Schools, Service Learning is embedded within our House system. Each House selects a meaningful cause, raising awareness and funds to support it.
Through these experiences, our students grow in social and global awareness, learning the value of compassion, action and positive change.
