A Decade On: Class of 2015 Returns to SMGS for 10-Year Reunion
On the first weekend of November, Snowy Mountains Grammar School welcomed back the Class of 2015 for their 10-Year Reunion. More than 25 alumni and their partners returned to campus to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate ten years since their graduation.
Exploring the Evolving SMGS Campus
The afternoon began with a guided tour of the SMGS campus. Alumni explored the many changes that have taken place since their school days, including expanded classrooms, modernised learning spaces and developments within the boarding precinct. Many commented on how proud they were to see the school evolve while still maintaining its strong sense of community and belonging.

The tour was led by Mrs Sue Sell and Ms Anne Jones, who joined me in welcoming the group and sharing stories from their time teaching the 2015 cohort. Alumni enjoyed revisiting the spaces that shaped so many of their experiences, including classrooms, boarding houses, the Snowy Shed and the sporting fields.
A Warm and Relaxed Reunion Evening
After the campus tour, the reunion continued at Rydges Horizons for a relaxed evening reception. It was a wonderful chance for everyone to reconnect and share what they have been doing since graduation, from career journeys and travel adventures to new families and personal achievements.
We offer our sincere thanks to Rydges Horizons for their generous hospitality, and to Miss Seren Onur (2015) and Mrs Isobel van der Mann (née van der Waerden) (2015) for their support in organising the event.
Connection at the Heart of the Class of 2015
Throughout the evening, one key theme emerged: connection. Alumni spoke warmly about the lifelong relationships formed at SMGS with friends, mentors and teachers, and how these relationships have continued to influence their lives long after graduation. Many expressed their gratitude for the encouragement and support they received during their time at school, which helped them pursue their passions and explore new opportunities.

Honouring the Past and Looking Ahead
Reunions like this are more than social gatherings. They are moments to reflect on how far we have come, to acknowledge the friendships that have endured and to appreciate the opportunities that shaped our early years. They remind us of the value of taking time to reconnect, remember and celebrate.
Equally, reunions are about looking forward. For the Class of 2015, the event was a reminder of the strong foundation their SMGS education provided and the shared values that continue to unite our alumni community.
As we look ahead to the next decade, the Class of 2015 stands as a testament to what it means to be part of the SMGS story, built on connection, opportunity and lifelong belonging.
