Happy National Agriculture Day!

On Friday 21 November, our learning community came together to celebrate National Agriculture Day with a lively and inclusive K–12 event. The afternoon brought a strong sense of connection and enjoyment as students and staff joined in a range of engaging activities that highlighted the important role agriculture plays in our region and across Australia.

Students loved meeting the visiting animals, which included ponies, lamb and goat kids, and silkie chickens. We extend our sincere thanks to the Blyth family for sharing their ponies, the Rowson family for bringing their young livestock, the Musacchio family for their silkie chickens, and Woolworths for providing water and fruit. Their support helped create a joyful and memorable celebration for our students.

We are also grateful to Mrs Amber Oakman and our Agriculture students for coordinating the event and ensuring it was a positive and enjoyable experience for the entire school. Reflecting on the celebration, Mrs Oakman shared:

“Our Agriculture students worked hard to create an engaging experience for their peers, and it was rewarding to see the school community come together in such a positive way. Celebrating agriculture helps us foster awareness, connection and gratitude for the work that supports us every day.”

Adding to the fun was the inaugural Golden Gumboot competition, with Mr Scott Frize securing the win with an impressive 28.7 metre throw.

The afternoon also supported a Royal Flying Doctor Service BBQ fundraiser, reinforcing the community spirit at the heart of the event.
