Year 11 subject selection is an important step towards your senior years. Explore the subjects available, understand where they can lead and make informed decisions that keep future pathways open.
Choosing your Year 11 subjects is one of the first important decisions you’ll make as you begin your senior years.
At this stage, many students aren’t certain where their future career or study pathway will lead and that’s perfectly normal. The subjects you choose should keep your options open while allowing you to pursue areas that genuinely interest and challenge you.
I encourage you to choose a balanced program of study that includes subjects aligned with your future aspirations, as well as subjects you enjoy. Don’t base your decisions solely on who is teaching a subject or the opinions of just one person. Seek advice from your teachers, your family, current senior students and our Careers team. Often, students discover new passions in subjects they hadn’t previously considered.
Years 11 and 12 are an exciting and rewarding journey. They are a time to deepen your learning, discover new interests and challenge yourself academically and personally. There will be challenges along the way, but our goal is to support you to achieve your personal best and prepare confidently for whatever pathway you choose beyond school.
I wish you every success as you begin this next stage of your learning.
