The Snowy Mountains Grammar School Parents and Friends Association (P&F) has celebrated its most successful Trivia Night to date, with a sold-out Winter Olympics-themed evening, along with the online auction, raising a record $26,890 for the School’s landscaping project.
With every table filled well in advance, demand exceeded capacity, leaving organisers already searching for a larger venue for next year’s event.
Guests embraced the Winter Olympics theme for an evening of friendly competition, laughter and community spirit. A highlight of the night was an exclusive Q&A featuring former Winter Olympians, who shared stories from their sporting journeys and reflected on the determination, resilience and teamwork required to compete on the world stage.
The evening extended well beyond trivia, with an impressive silent and live auction and raffles creating plenty of excitement throughout the night. Exclusive prizes included a guitar signed by Australian Idol winner and Jindabyne local Kesha Nevé and a unique on-snow experience with Olympic gold medallist Josie Baff, alongside a host of generously donated items and experiences from local businesses and supporters.
The outstanding result was made possible through the generosity of the wider Snowy Mountains community, local businesses, volunteers and the many families who attended, donated and bid so enthusiastically throughout the evening and during the online auction period.
Every dollar raised will contribute to the School’s ongoing landscaping project, helping create vibrant outdoor spaces where students can learn, connect and spend time together.
P&F President Christie Glasson said the evening demonstrated what can be achieved when a community comes together.
“The P&F Committee takes pride in the meaningful contributions we make to our school, made possible by the dedication and generosity of our members.”
Events like the Winter Olympics Trivia Night are a reminder that the P&F is about much more than fundraising. They create opportunities for families, staff and the wider community to connect while making a lasting contribution to the student experience.
